Chengchao Li is a journalist and photojournalist, born and raised in Fuzhou, China, and currently based in New York. He earned dual degrees in Journalism and International Relations from Boston University and is pursuing a master's degree at the Columbia University School of Journalism. 
Chengchao's work focuses on narrative profile writing, documentary-style photojournalism, and multimedia reporting. He has reported on immigrant communities, labor issues, and civic life, including coverage of major public events such as the Labor Day Parade. His newsroom and media experience includes The Daily Free Press, BU Productions, and several nonprofit organizations, such as National September 11 Memorial & Museum and The City University of New York. 
He is skilled in breaking news reporting, enterprise feature writing, photo and video production, field reporting, and multimedia storytelling for digital platforms and diverse audiences.
Passionate about amplifying marginalized voices, Chengchao’s reporting centers on immigration, social justice, and cultural identity. He aims to expand his work at Columbia and beyond by combining rigorous reporting with visual storytelling to broaden public understanding of marginalized communities.
